Creating A User Oriented Website

In today's world, users turn to the web to get up to date information about everything from the latest industry news to who won the big game. Because of this, simply having a company website is no longer enough. Your website is your chance to make a first impression on your perspective clients and with that in mind, here are a few simple tips to help you to create the ultimate user experience.

  • Know what users want - It seems simple, right? Not so much. You know users want information so many companies figure that more corporate the site, and the more information they provide, the better. This may have the opposite effect. Finding the most popular information and focusing on that is a great asset to you. You can provide additional information over the phone, or even better --in person.
  • Make sure your site loads quickly - We're an instant gratification society and simply put, if your site takes a long time to load, users will go elsewhere.
  • Create a strong brand - Consistancy is important. Make sure your site has a cohesive feel. This will create a strong brand image and customers will remember that.
  • Consider deveoping a site geared towards mobile users - Gone are the days where you had to be at a computer to navigate the web. More and more users have turned to smartphones and other mobile devices so keeping up with this trend is important. Avoid excessive imagery and non-relevant information.
