Web Development Terminology

Sometimes in the web development industry we may use terms that any normal non-techie person will not understand. That is why I am here today to explain a few terms commonly used in web development.

Have you heard a web developer ever talk about a production server or a staging server? They are referring to the current location of your website. Your website files will reside on the production server when the site has been launched and is ready for the general public to view. During testing the web developer may put your website in an alternate place away from the public eye refereed to as the testing or staging server.

While your website is on the staging server you will be encouraged to test and gather your feedback on the website flow and possible bugs.

Join me again, hopefully soon, for some more exciting web development terminology.
