I can remember years ago in the web's infancy, how webmasters doted over new image formats for the web. That was all the craze, having high end graphics on your website and although this is still very important, there is a new craze sweeping the web.
Video is now being used widely on many sites with the help of Flash. Before flash video became a major player, webmasters hesitated to put video on their websites as it meant that their viewers would need to have the appropriate player and codecs to see the video. Placing a video that a major portion of your viewers would not be able to see, would just frustrate the user and possibly inhibit the usability of the website.
Now that flash video has been widely adopted and the flash browser plugin is installed by just about all web users, video on the web is growing and demand for high quality video with it.
